Cover art inspired by American artist Morris Louis
Somebody pointed out on Murakami Haruki Stuff (http://www.haruki-murakami.com/) that the picture on the cover of Tsukuru Tazaki is in fact a 1961 painting by an American abstract expressionist artist, Morris Louis, titled Pillar of Fire.
